Inflatable Testing & Electrical Safety

Before our It’s A Knockout season has begun, there are a lot of back room tasks to perform. One of these is safety testing our equipment. So what does safety 2025 look like? Let’s look at what this involves.

Our safety blogs are the opposite to the feel of the rest of our website. People usually want to see colourful and exciting games when gaining information and sourcing an It’s A Knockout games provider. Our safety blogs show that there should be a lot more to consider as well to make sure you choose a reputable company. Discharging your responsibilities is the term used to describe this. The official guidance for the UK is that work equipment is subject to regular inspection. This by a competent person who is independent of ownership, maintenance and manufacture. Our industry refers to HSG175 for its guidance.

It was a bright, sunny week in April this year that we had our big week of pre-season checks.

Inflatable Testing.

Rundles are the inspection body (I.B.) that carried out the inflatable testing. They are registered with ADIPS to carry out an approved protocol for testing. This testing scheme is supported by the HSE (Health & Safety Executive). We had 30 units tested. All passed with flying colours!

Safety 2025

There are various aspects of our inflatables that need to be checked. Including the following:

  • Stitching, seams and delamination.
  • Anchor points.
  • Unit pressure.
  • Checking that we have sufficient ground stakes and safety mats.
  • The inflatables do not have any rips or holes.
  • Deflation times (to address entrapment).

PAT Testing.

All of our electrics have also had their first check of the year. Plugs, leads, distribution boxes, enclosures, inflatable inflators (called blowers) and sound systems are all tested.

Other Procedures.

This year we are continuing with our staff training. This including the introduction of our own Safeguarding Policy. We attend many schools and youth events and work with different abilities. The introduction of a safeguarding policy will reassure clients that our staff are aware of their responsibilities. This also will compliment a clients own policy (which can be included as well).

For more of our safety policies and procedures please see Our Safety Procedures page which includes details of our Controllers Compliance Pack of documents, risk assessments and staff CPD program.
